Ambalay Raye Trade & Industry was established in 2003 as the official representative of Evyap Turkey, introducing quality personal care, hygiene, and cosmetic products to the Ethiopian market.
As the company grew, it expanded its partnerships and product portfolio, including the introduction of professional beauty equipment from Ceriotti Italy.
Today, Ambalay continues to evolve—building on years of experience in trade and distribution while expanding into local manufacturing and connecting Ethiopian products with international markets.
The Journey
1999
The Beginning
Ambalay began as a small import business, sourcing products from the UAE and bringing them to the Ethiopian market
2005
Expanding Horizons
The import business grew and diversified, expanding its sourcing network to include China, India, and Italy.
2009
Ambalay Is Established
Ambalay Raey Trade and Industry PLC was formally incorporated, establishing the foundation for the company’s continued growth.
2010
Partnership with EVYAP
Ambalay began its partnership with EVYAP International, marking an important step in the company’s development and product portfolio.
2019
Investing in Ethiopia
Ambalay began investing in local opportunities, laying the groundwork for its transition toward local production.
2021
Building Our Transport Business
Ambalay launched its transport business to support and strengthen its import and export operations.
2025
DURU Goes Local
Ambalay began local production of DURU soap in Ethiopia under license from EVYAP International, marking a major milestone in the company’s journey.
